I attended the following presentations:
University of Manitoba

University of Winnipeg

- Overall, Winnipeg was the only one that slightly interested me... U of A bound baby!

More Sequence Wonderfulness

choose Five questions from : 2,3,4,8,10,11,13,14,15,16 and all of the multiple choice questions from the sequences handout*

F.O.R ( Friends Of Rachel ) are collecting food items for the Swan Valley Food Bank. Mr. Maksymchuk has challenged us to each bring a food item. Lisa will be writing down who has brought something and Maks will release the Hounds of Hell on us if we don't bring a food item.

Four Methods for Sequences and Series

Method #1 - Calculator (home screen method)
Method #2 - Excel
Method #3 - Shodor* http://www.shodor.com/interactivate/assessments/
Method #4 - Sequence Mode ( on Calculator)
- chance your mode from func. to seq.
- define your sequence as: u(n)=u(n-1)*0.969

Two Perspectives:

1) Geometric/ Arithmatic Sequences
- Prediction
- Stability
- Exponential Growth
Scenario: Problem we use various techniques to generate sequences.

2) Fractal Analysis
- Perimeters
- Volumes

Definition:
Fractal:a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole; self - similarity.
